Eliminate Web Browsers Junk Files and Speed Up Browsers

Temporary Internet Files enabling faster loading of websites on your system by fetching a lot of data from the cache of most frequently visited web pages. Junk files

Internet Explorer:

  1. Open the Internet Properties dialog by launching Run > inetcpl.cpl
  2. On the General tab, locate the “Delete” button under the Browsing History category
  3. Check all the boxes and click Delete to initiate the cleanup

Google Chrome:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete keys simultaneously to bring up the Clear browsing data window
  2. Select the time range as “beginning of time” (using the drop down box)
  3. Select all the boxes next to the categories you wish to be cleaned up
  4. Finally, click on the “Clear browsing data” button to kick start the cleaning process

Mozilla Firefox:

Click the Menu icon on the upper right, choose Options from the menu
Open the Advanced category from the new page that opened
Open Network tab
Click the “Clear Now” button to instantly start the process


  1. Click the Opera button
  2. Select More Tools | Clear browsing data
  3. Choose “the beginning of time” as your time period; make sure every checkbox is selected
  4. Initialize the cleanup by clicking the “Clear browsing data” button

Automated Script:

We’ve created this Batch file for our readers with command-line instructions to automatically start the cleanup of the temporary folders’ contents. It’ll clear up large chunks of data and give a big boost to your system’s speed.

Follow the steps given below:

  1. Open Notepad. (Start > All Apps > Windows Accessories > Notepad)
  2. Copy and paste the following command-lines as they are: (Do NOT make any changes)

  3. Click File | Save as
  4. Set the following attributes:
    a. File name: CleanUp.batFile
    b. Type: All Files
    c. File Location: Desktop
  5. Exit Notepad
  6. Exit any programs that are open. (Including their system tray icons)
  7. On your desktop; right-click the “CleanUp.bat” file and select the “Run as administrator” option
